History
Risen Below brings a unique style of music ranging from melodic intricacy to lightning fast crushing metal and everything in between.
Risen Below started under the name of Liquid Pain, which is now the name of one of their songs. It was originally just Zack Thieman
and Josh Flugaur writing music on guitars. That's mostly where the classic heavy metal influence came from. They then picked up Cameron
Shegonee on drums after a couple try-outs. Cameron brought more of a heavier, faster sound to the band. Then the name was changed to
Fallen Above. At that time they had David Cameron as their bassist, who had to move soon after joining. When Dave left the band Scott
Broady became the Bassist. Zack also takes care of vocal duties now after having a couple unsuccessful try-outs. As they started completing
full songs a couple of new names where thrown about until finally deciding on Risen Below. After months of practice they started playing live
gigs at the Underground and also the St. Louis Park High School Battle of the Bands, where they came in first with the help of an amazing crowd.
Then they played in the TC Underground Battle of the Bands, where they made it into the final of the three rounds. Risen Below has rocked with bands
such as Screaming Monkey Boner and All the Pretty Horses at The Garage. The boys just finished post production on their 3 track demo album,
Demolitia, and are awaiting printing and a date to set for a release party/gig. New circumstances have led to the realization that the full album,
Liquid Pain, will have to wait until next summer. New material is being written and developed, and we are currently recording in The attic on our
equipment.
